Summer Music Festival

CatFest 2010

Catterline will be the venue for a brand new music festival if plans by a leading concert promoter are approved. Glasgow based JK Promotions have teamed up with the Catterline Gala Association to develop an exciting new idea for community based festivals.

Aiming to provide a distinctive alternative to those who feel disenchanted with the trend towards ever bigger and more commercial festivals, "CatFest" will be based firmly in the community. There will be acts to suit all tastes, from the world's smallest ceilidh (in the phone box) to an open air stage on the playing field. Villagers will be turning their homes into small music venues for everything from piano recitals to rock bands, with other "guerilla busking" attacks, workshops, impromptu gigs and sessions and all manner of musical mayhem and malarkey to surprise and delight visitors as they walk around the village.

The grand finale for the day will be a concert in the bay, with the headline band playing on a barge while festival goers party on the beach until the small hours.

For further information, or if you are interested in getting involved and perhaps volunteering your home as a venue, please don't hesitate to get in touch.
