Nearly every cartie has been seen hurtling down the brae in the last few days, so a fair idea of the form is becoming clearer. Who do you think will win? Give your predictions here.
Carties (and teams) are, in no particular order;
Maniac 1 (Firstdrive)
The Greased Weasel (The Weasel Greasers)
Tequila Slammer (The Cheats!)
The Barras Bullet (Team Barras)
Bitter (Twisted)
Pumping Iron (The Embarassing Parents)
Chariot of Fire (McKibben)
McKibben 2 (McKibben)
The Red Baron (Spirit of Istanbul '05)
Creel Runnings (Team Scozzy)
The Cartie with No Name (Roseweir)
Burnside Bomber (Pengelly) |

Personally, I have to say I've been enormously impressed by the quality of the entries. There are some very quick carties out there.
Maniac1, Tequilla Slammer and Creel Runnings are all definately in with a chance, but I think that the Tequilla Slammer could well take it on the day.
The Barras Bullet is my tip for the cartie least likely to complete a run. |

Team Embarrassing Parent have retired to the pits for some essential maintenance - we got down to the metal on our brake blocks after only 3 runs!
In retrospect, the prone position (head first) may not have been such a great idea after all, the course is fast and bumpy.
We saw a few carties testing last night - Very impressed with Maniac 1.
But, I hate to say it, but the fastest I saw last night was late on - Team McKibben and Chariot of Fire is very fast and stable. I just hope Byron's welding is as good as his bravado!
Should be a good race! |

We may not have the quickest cartie, nor the safest - but we will have the best pressed shirts!

Never mind pressed shirts - after what I saw of your cartie I think you're going to doing quite a lot of laundry after the event... |

I know Byron believes his own publicity, but I'm surprised that you've fallen for it too, Chris. |
