Want to brighten up those dark winter evenings? Canny Act your local Drama Group are planning another production for next year and would welcome new members.

If you would like to join in the fun then do come along to Temple Lodge Kinneff next Tuesday 22nd November at 8.00 pm.

We need all sorts of help - it's not just for those who enjoy dressing unusually - we need folk to assist behind the scenes too. We can guarantee a lot of laughs so do come along!

Don't Worry 'Bout a Thing

Canny Act's panto this year: "Bah! Humbug!" brought a much needed ray of sunshine and warmth to this icy corner of the North East on Saturday.

Playing to packed houses for both performances, the great Charles Dickens tale was retold in a way only Canny Act can. Keeping true to core of the story Phil Murray's Scrooge was a commanding presence throughout the show.Children leaving the village hall at the end of the performance were heard repeating his barking "Bah Humbug" much to their amusement.

Written by Chris Rodger the show romped through the famous fable at a fair lick, with able support from Debbie Murray as Cratchitt,and the five strong chorus, playing various parts (workers,bodies,skeletons.etc)

The introduction of a certain legendary reggae star (Marley) brought the house down as Denis Garden and his fabulous Wailers brought Jamaican sunshine to Kinneff with a wonderful version of what developed into the show's theme "One Love"

Sadly summer's almost over, schools are going back, soon winter draws (drawers?!) on but do not despair.....Canny Act your local Drama Group are planning another panto - hooray!

If you would like to join in the fun then do come along to a meeting at the Creel on Tuesday 24th August at 8.00pm to discuss our plans.

We need all sorts of help - it's not just for those who enjoy dressing unusually - we need folk to assist behind the scenes with building and painting sets, lighting and sound, making costumes, doing make up or just generally helping out - we can guarantee a lot of laughs so do come along!

Red Herrings, Corpses and Canny Deduction

Canny Act's production of A Murder at Barras Hall had it all. A murder, intrigue, some terrible jokes and some fine acting and production.

The ensemble should be congratulated for turning the cosy surroundings of Kinneff Village Hall into the Drawing Room of a fine Country House, complete with Chesterfield and Grandfather clock.

Canny Act are proud to announce that they will stage their next production "Murder at Barras Hall" on Saturday 6th March in Kinneff Village Hall with performances at 2.30pm and 7.30pm.

Seats will be available for Adults £7 and Concessions £5. The performance is not suitable for young children.

The last performance sold out very fast, so don't delay. Tickets can be reserved in advance by emailing murderTickets@catterline.org.

Summer's nearly over, schools are back, winter draws (drawers?!) on and so.....Canny Act your local Drama Group are planning another production!

We need all sorts of help - it's not just for those who like to dress unusually (in spite of photos on website) - you could assist behind the scenes with costume production, make up, scenery, prompting, or just helping out - so come and join us for some fun!

Canny Acts outstanding re-interpretation of Beauty and the Beast contained many memorable moments, but those who saw Beaut's two ugly sisters in full flow are unlikely to forget the experience in a very long time. (And not without a great deal of therapy too).

Canny Act at Catterline

Fancy brightening up the coming months and getting involved with a local Drama Group?

Canny Act are reforming their successful Drama Group. The aim is to provide a forum for performing arts in the Catterline area, bringing together all parts of the community with an artistic focus.

Our main aim is have a lot of fun!

We are currently planning a Village Pantomime for December and plan further plays through next year. So we need volunteers not just for leading roles but for small parts and to help behind the scenes.

Rehearsals start next Thursday 4th September, meeting each Thursday, so if you would like to come along to find out more please get in touch with Karen Hales on Tel 467.
