Catterline Gala

We've got the ale and the tent...

... and now all we need is the talent. So far number of entries has been somewhat underwhelming, and here is a very real danger that the show will consist of me singing unaccompanied sea shanties for two and a half hours.
In order to give you chance to save yourselves from this, frankly, rather grim prospect we're extending the deadline for talent show entries by two weeks to May 14th. If you're planning to put on a turn please let us know as soon as you can so we can plan the running order etc.
Entry forms and information are available from here, or just email Tommy.

Talent in the Tent 2007

Talent in the Tent 2007We're doing it again. Last year's Talent in the Tent was so much fun that we couldn't possibly not do it this year too. As it was last year this is a fun event only. Talent in the Tent Friday night gives the village the opportunity to show their talents and entertain us all in a no-risk, no embarrassment (well not much...) environment.
We are delighted to announce that Andrea Brymer of STV North will be our compere for the evening !
Following on from the success of last year we will again have a refreshments and snacks "mini-real ale corner" of the tent again courtesy of Robert Lindsay and the Creel Inn.
This is a fun show – not a competition – We would rather that everyone entered and had a good laugh than worry about it being serious. There are no prizes other than the applause of your fellow village inmates although we might just invite any outstanding audience favourites back up on stage again if there is time.
Come On – look out the Elvis jumpsuit or Tommy Cooper Fez - Join In !!
More details and entry forms are attached below.

Johnny Depp to Open Gala

Johnny Depp to open Catterline GalaFantastics news! We've secured the services of Hollywood star Johnny Depp to open this year's Catterline Gala!
Gala organiser Tom Roseweir said "We're absolutely delighted that Johnny will be joining us. Apparently he will be in Scotland around that time anyway as he in the highlands filming his latest project - The Parlofoil Conspiracy - and this seems like a fantastic way to re-establish his family ties to the area".
Mr Depp found out about the Gala when searching on the internet for information about his Scottish roots. It is understood that his father's family originated in Barras, but left the area some time in the 17th century to seek their fortune in the New World.
After reading of the pirate theme for the gala, he got in touch to offer his services to instruct the locals in the art of walking in a piratey way. He has agreed to open the gala, sign photographs and judge the fancy dress on Gala day - Saturday 9th of June 2007.
