Bag2School Collection

Catterline School Parent Group has organised a textile collection with Bag2School in order to raise funds for Catterline School.

Bag2School are the UK’s leading textile recycler and fundraiser working with schools and since its inception in 2001 they have now paid out over £10 million. As well as raising funds for our school, it also helps the environment by helping to divert unwanted textiles away from landfill. Our last collection in March 2011 raised an amazing total of £235 for Catterline School. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

By getting involved in our Bag2School collection, you have an opportunity to sort through your cupboards and wardrobes and donate unwanted textiles in the bag provided – this can include adults’ and children’s clothes, shoes (tied together please), hats, belts, bags, soft toys, curtains and bedding (not duvets or pillows). Our school will receive £500 per tonne or £0.50/kg which will be a great boost for our fundraising. In addition it will also raise awareness amongst the children of the benefits of recycling and reuse.

Council Consultation on School Estate

Aberdeenshire Council's Education, Learning and Leisure Committee are launching an extensive consultation on the school estate.

The first stage of this is an online questionnaire that will be available between Monday 29th August 2011 and Friday 30th September 2011.

The survey asks a series of questions about our school estate and some of the pressures and possibilities affecting it. Some of the questions look at criteria that could be used when looking at the future viability of the school estate.

The second stage of the current consultation process will be a series of stakeholder meetings that will be held with specific communities between October 2011 and February 2012. The locations and dates of the meetings will be decided after the first stage has been completed.

The survey is also available in paper form either by contacting EL&L Reception on 01224 664630, or from your local school or library. The survey can be provided in alternative languages on request.

CSPG Christmas Coffee Morning

Come along and enjoy a festive cuppa with home baking, then browse the various stalls including Chrsitmas craft made by the childrren, treasure trails and a raffle. Fun and games for the children including games, lucky dip, card and biscuit decorating stalls.

Donations of baking and raffle prizes gratefully received. Hand in to school before 10am on Saturday 27th. Raffle prizes to committee members by Thursday 25th.

Spring Fling Fundraising Success

The Catterline School Spring Fling was a great success - and raised an amazing £3,226.41 for school funds. A huge thank you to everyone who bought raffle tickets, donated prizes and items for the auction, bid for those 'things that money can't buy' and came along and danced the night away. Thanks also to all the local business who supported the event. The children (and teachers!) at the school will all benefit from those extras that can't be squeezed out of the school budget.
