Welcome to Catterline Online

Welcome to the new look Catterline Online. It has been moved to a new server and updated to make it easier to maintain. I hope you like the new look - superficially you'll find it is very similar to the old layout, but you'll soon start to notice the differences as more features are added.

I've moved a lot of the more current stuff over from the old website, and will be moving the rest in the coming weeks and months. In the mean time, please bear with me while I get everything sorted out. If there is anything particular you'd like to see then please let me know.

A wind turbine
The Gordons have formally submitted the planning application for their plan to build 4 wind turbines on their farm at Clochnahill. They spoke to the community council about their plan in January this year and also put on a display in Stonehaven Town Hall so people could view and discuss the plans first hand.
The details for the application are not on Aberdeenshire's website yet, but it is mentioned in the weekly list from last Friday (12th May 2006). On the same page in the weekly list is another application, this time for 3 turbines right next door to Clochnahill at Hillhead of Auquhirie.

Cricket Fun Day 2005

Catterline Clifftoppers Catterline's team for this year's Cricket Fun Day and Mineralwell park was comprised mainly of new and enthusiastic talent and we were unfortunate to come up against to strong teams in our opening games.
We were drawn in the same group as the Tennis Club (the defending champions), The Hookers and the Mums in Touch, and our first game was against the Hookers.
Brendan call the toss correctly and we chose to bat, hoping to put up a good total to put the team from the Hook and Eye under pressure from the start. The first part of the plan worked reasonably well and we posted a total of over 60, which is not bad for a six over innings. Unfortunately our bowling and fielding wasn’t up to defending the score, and the hookers won in the fifth over of their innings, with 4 wickets in hand.
Our second game was slightly easier, as it was against the women and children of Mums in Touch.

Cricket Fun Day 2004

Catterline Cricketers
Peter, Dave, Byron, Chris
Neil, Douglas, Mike, Mark, Tommy
Catterline entered a team in Stonehaven Thistle Cricket Club's annual Cricket Fun Day, a one day 7-a-side cricket tournament held at the end of each season. Feeling some need to improve on the previous year's performance, the team decided to practice a little and enlisted the village's "real" cricketers (Denis, Nigel and Stephen) to provide some coaching on the Friday night before the tournament, on a temporary "wicket" hacked out of the playing field by Nigel.
The practice seemed to pay off, as Catterline won their two first round matches and came top of their group, comfortably beating both "P.U.S.S.Y" and the combined Police & Tennis Club team.
