Catterline Cyclists Raise over £1,000 for Marie Curie

Catterline Cyclists Set OffA big thank you to everyone who rode,  donated or helped to organise the Tour De Catterline.  Thanks to the sunny weather we had a few more people sign up on the day than expected with a total of 84 cyclists riding between 10 and 50 (ish) miles!

Fortunately everyone made it back to the Creel Inn safely.  Chris Rodger was a deserving winner of the coveted yellow jersey for having celebrated his 50th birthday by combining the 50 mile bike ride with 50 lengths of a swimming pool and 5 miles of running!  Dave Evans won the best dressed cyclist prize with ease!

A big thank you to our three main sponsors - the Creel Inn for generously giving everyone who wanted a bowl of soup, Bike Remedy of Stonehaven for providing prizes, and Scotmid Coop who gave us a grant to pay for snacks and drinks.   Their support of the race allowed every pound donated to go directly to this year's charity which was Marie Curie Cancer Care.  We raised £1040, which is an amazing result - thanks again to everyone who helped make this possible!

A final thanks goes to John Vaughan for providing emergency support on the day (fortunately not called upon), and Julia and James for helping people sign in and out.

Hope you can all make it back again next year!
