Catterline Cyclists raise £500 for Young at Heart

Tour de Catterline Just to congratulate all those cyclists who did the Tour de Catterline bike ride this year, we have managed to raise £500 for Young at Heart which is a great achievement. Overall, the bike ride, which started in 1999 with a trip to Aboyne for a night out, (which I couldn't attend because I couldn't sit down) has raised £7500 supporting charities such as Macmillan, Cancer Research UK, Childline, CLAN, Red Cross and Young at Heart this year.

I need to thank all the cyclists who took part, but also those that supported us along the way. In particular, the support cars, Chris Rigby and George, Chris Rodger (he had a bad back so couldn't take part) and ofcourse that Irish man with his chainsaw John Vaughan. I never even saw John, but believe he rescued Dot and has been busy with his chainsaw ever since.

Kate Mackie has offered to organise the cycle next year, so keep the training going.

Well done!

Anne Marie (still can't sit down)
