Not sure about New Year, but I'll be taking my trebuchet down to the harbour on Boxing Day to fling a few fireballs into the sea. Roughly 6.00pm.
(See here for a couple of videos from last year). _________________ You don't stop playing when you grow old. You grow old when you stop playing. |

This will be the fourth year we've done it. It's on Boxing Day so as not to clash with Stonehaven and also because it's St Stephen's Day. It's not really a big thing - just something I like to do and people like to watch, but it's fun and usually quite spectacular.
The "weapon" itself is an old design, but is actually not that old. I built it about 3 years ago, just for a laugh. _________________ You don't stop playing when you grow old. You grow old when you stop playing. |

Believe it or not, "trebucket" is a perfectly acceptable alternative pronunciation. (See here). _________________ You don't stop playing when you grow old. You grow old when you stop playing. |

You dont get away that easily Trish ..... "trebuchet" is not pronounced "tray-bucket" only Stephen's new alternative word "trebucket" might be pronounced that way (and indeed perhaps we should check the pronunuciation to be sure !) |
