The subject of traffic speed in and near Catterline was raised at the Community Council meeting last night. The possibility supporting a request for a 20mph village for all of Catterline village came up. What do you think? Is this a good idea? If we were to have a 20mph zone, where should it start?

We already have a 20mph zone by the school, which is Aberdeenshire policy for all roads around schools, and personally, I think it's hard to make a case for being allowed to go above 20 anywhere in the village.

There is a poll on the CKDCC web site - why not go along and make your mark, and maybe leave a comment too.

Excellent idea. Pretty difficult to go above that for any spell anyway.

What about the cartie challenge?

It is pretty hard to get above 20, but that doesn't stop some folks having a try anyway... Neutral

Clearly there would be an exemption for unpowered vehicles on the brae on the second Sunday in June though... Very Happy

Stephen

I'd support a 20mph limit for the village. Could it start at our house?

Stephen,

Have the local council come to a decision yet?

Cheers,

Not yet as far as I know. The last I heard was at the Community Council meeting in May - George Swapp had written a letter but had not received a reply. The CC will resume monthly meetings at the end of September, so maybe we'll find out some more then.
