Creelstock

Aug 14 2011 - 3:00pm

Creelstock 2011 Following the success of last year's inaugural event, the second Creelstock music day is taking place at the Creel Inn, Catterline, on Sunday 14th August from 3pm. This year we are raising funds for Leukaemia & Lymphoma research, and the day is dedicated to the memory of the late Will Michael, Stonehaven - born jazz pianist and educator who sadly died in 2008 having been diagnosed with leukaemia the previous year.

Once again we have a great line up of bands and musical talent as listed on the Creelstock poster attached. This year's headline act will be Richard Michael, Will's brother and one of Scotland's leading jazz pianists. Well known to listeners to BBC Scotland's The Jazz House programme, Richard brings a lifetime of dedication to playing and teaching jazz as well as roots deep in the Scottish tradition. Expect musical fireworks - and fun - when Dr Jazz takes the stage.

Also appearing is James Lindsay from highly rated and award winning folk band Skalder, local favourites blues-rock merchants No Hot Ashes, and the melodic Richard Hannay and the Thirty Nine Steps. Special guests from London the multi-talented Suttle Family and the wide ranging talents of The Catterline All Stars complete the bill.

All this takes place against the stunning backdrop of Catterline village with all the delights the Creel Inn has to offer on hand!'
