Sadly summer's almost over, schools are going back, soon winter draws (drawers?!) on but do not despair.....Canny Act your local Drama Group are planning another panto - hooray!

If you would like to join in the fun then do come along to a meeting at the Creel on Tuesday 24th August at 8.00pm to discuss our plans.

We need all sorts of help - it's not just for those who enjoy dressing unusually - we need folk to assist behind the scenes with building and painting sets, lighting and sound, making costumes, doing make up or just generally helping out - we can guarantee a lot of laughs so do come along!

Second Annual Catterline International Open Fishing Contest

Stop Press - Brought forward to Saturday 4th September.

Starting at 9am to make best use of the tide.

Actual competitors may be less attractive. Fish may be smaller too.

Prizes for:

• most interesting fish
• best batch of fish landed early (within 2 hrs)
• heaviest individual fish
• most vibrant selection of species
• the Jayne Mansfield award

Kids’ games (tba); fishy barbecue with hot smoked mackerel & champagne on the beach to follow

Fishing 9.00am - 1.00pm; prizes, food & drink from 1.30pm

Fee for participation: 1 bottle of Champagne, Prosecco or similar per two competitors.

The Catterline Bike Ride

This is the 11th anniversary of The Catterline Bike Ride, a not-for profit, non-competitive event organised by the villagers which aims to raise money each year for a charity chosen by the villagers.

This year, entry fees and donations will be given to Parkinson’s UK.

• Choice of routes: 35 or 50 miles plus a family-friendly option.
• Advanced Entry Required: £10 Adults, Children under 16 Free.
• Grand Départ: Catterline School.
• 10:30 or 11.30am for the 35 mile route,
• 9:30, 10.30 or 11.30am for the 50 mile route.
• Finish: The Creel Inn @ 2.30pm for free soup and prize giving.
• Spot prizes provided by Cycleworld Stonehaven.
• Free fridge magnet for every participant!
