Rectory Exhibition Opening a brand new venue in Catterline for NEOS 2009 (North East Open Studios ) - The Old Rectory Studio will showcase the art works of three local artists.

Jane Birrell MacKenzie teaches Art and Design at Oldmachar Academy in Aberdeen and has more than 27 years of teaching experience in Aberdeen and in The Middle East. She works in mixed media and produces images inspired by the landscapes she lives in and travels through; emotional responses to her surroundings.  On show are large and small scale, colourful and textural works completed In Spain, France and here in Catterline.  Her work is informed by her Textile and Jewellery Art School training.

Trina Stark teaches Art ad Design at Albyn School and also has more than 27 years of teaching experience in Aberdeen.  Her work explores a wide variety of collage and paint techniques, resulting in smaller scale, layered pieces which capture atmosphere and reveal a sense of 'place'.  Trina's colours are soft and harmonious and her images please the eye and calm the soul.

Perri MacKenzie is a recent Fine Art graduate of Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art in Dundee.  The work on display formed a part of her degree show and is large in scale and dramatic in tone.  She produces original 'one off' figurative litho prints from wooden printing blocks. Perri's prints are visually strong and arresting; some in colour and some in black and white.
