Catterline Coastal Rowing Club are keen to introduce more people to the joys of rowing our beautiful community build skiff, so we'll be running training days in May with the aim of creating safe, competent and confident rowers.

The course will run on Saturday afternoons from 4th to 25th May, and you can choose one of two sessions - either 2pm to 3.30pm, or 3.30pm to 5pm.

The course will cover;

* Basic rowing technique

* Safety and distress procedures

* Introduction to coxing

* VHF radio familiarity

* Introduction to racing

All equipment will be supplied.

Initially we will row from Stonehaven Harbour, but plan to row from Catterline and Gourdon when weather and tides permit.

The minimum age for the sessions is 18 (or 16 if accompanied in the boat by a parent or guardian). There is no upper age limit.

Rowing and its associated training can be a strenuous activity. You should therefore be in good health and have no medical or physical condition precluding heavy exercise. If there is any doubt you should first consult your doctor.

Course fee : £25.00 per head (covers all four sessions)
